How It All Started
When we opened Umami Japanese Cuisine in 2016 at 684 E 11400 S, Draper, UT, our goal was simple — to bring fresh, authentic Japanese food to our local community. As a locally owned restaurant, we wanted to create a place where guests could enjoy great food and feel right at home, whether stopping by for lunch or celebrating with family.

Our menu is built around the heart of Japanese cooking — simple ingredients prepared with care. From sushi rolls and ramen to teriyaki and tempura, we focus on flavor, balance, and consistency. In October 2025, we’re bringing a new chapter to Umami with a full renovation and rebrand. While our look may change, our promise stays the same — quality food, friendly service, and a welcoming space for everyone. We can’t wait for you to visit and be part of our story here in Draper.
